Biography

Patricia Senecal has been studying other artists and practicing her own art since she first went to a children's summer program at the University of Missouri in Kansas City at age 6 years old. While experimenting with different media over the years, Pat discovered pastel painting recently. This is now her medium of choice as it allows the depth of color that is so vibrant in the natural world. Pat takes her inspiration from eclectic sources, using the softer edges of the Impressionists as well as the bold abstraction of modern portrait painters like Warhohl. Color is used freely, not in imitation of reality but in order to capture the mood of a scene or a characteristic of a person or animal. Her subjects vary, but she particularly enjoys the challenge of human and pet portraiture. She resides in Durango, CO and travels often to various parts of the world, looking for unique color combinations that express the essence of lively living. She has displayed her work in medical, government, educational and event settings. Call or email for pricing on Originals or High Definition prints. Greeting Cards of any work available.
